Shakib Al Hasan Has Less Interest In Tests – Nazmul Hasan
Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hasan said on September 11 (Wednesday) that incumbent Test skipper Shakib Al Hasan has less interest in playing red-ball cricket. The veteran all-rounder has expressed his unwillingness to continue as the captain of the Test side.
The Tigers suffered a humiliating 224-run loss against Test cricket’s new entrants, Afghanistan. Bangladesh failed to live upto the expectations as Rashid Khan ran through their batting. The host nation failed to stop Afghan batters who posted runs on the board and then back it up with good bowling.
Shakib Al Hasan during the game and even after rubbing admitted that he is not willing to continue as the skipper of Bangladesh side in Test cricket. And now, Nazmul Hasan has revealed that he has shown little enthusiasm to play red-ball cricket.

“We have noticed he did not have much interest in Test (cricket). You have seen that when we were touring foreign countries, he wanted to have a break during the Tests,” Nazmul told reporters in Dhaka late Wednesday.
“Naturally he might have less interest. But we never heard that he has less interest in captaincy. If he is skipper, then he has to play. If you are not skipper, then you can skip,” Nazmul said.

Bangladesh became the first team to lose to 10 different Test-play nation. They also had a poor outing in th World Cup and suffered a whitewash in the series against Bangladesh days after the World Cup. Although Shakib Al Hasan has expressed his desire not to play in Test, he is still an important stakeholder in the limited-overs side.
