Legendary England pacer James Anderson, who missed the Ashes series with calf injury has revealed that he is aiming to return during the New Zealand and South Africa Tests. The host missed the service of Anderson badly in the Ashes as Australia retained the urn for the first time since 2001.

The right-arm pacer sustained an injury while playing for Lancashire in July. It aggravated as Anderson managed only four overs in the opening Test at Edgbaston before bowing out of the series. It has been a disappointing sight for James Anderson who has been waiting for a long time to play in Ashes.

England also missed his service badly as their bowlers failed to dominate the Aussie batsman. They are yet to find a solution to stop the run-machine Steve Smith. The former Australia skipper has scored three centuries and two fifties including a double hundred in the five innings he has batted.

James Anderson admitted that he was in good shape and was looking forward to the Ashes before copping up the injury. But England’s highest wicket-taker said that he is trying to come out of the disappointment and looking forward now.

“I’m just about getting over the disappointment… looking ahead to what I can do in the future,” Anderson said to Sky Sports. “I’m definitely hungry and keen to keep playing for England. This summer I have been bowling as well as I ever have. I bowled quite a lot for Lancashire at the start of the season and was in really good form before I got injured at an annoying time,” he added.

James Anderson has also revealed his plan going into the future. The star pacer is eyeing to make a return during the two-match Test series in New Zealand. But Anderson said that he is ready to wait till the South Africa series to get back to the England side.

“I never like looking too far ahead, I just want to get my calf sorted and look to the next series to see if I can get myself fit for New Zealand and if not, then South Africa,” Anderson concluded.
