Meanwhile, Kane Williamson speaks on the mindset of the players following the heart-breaking loss.
Eoin Morgan lifted the trophy but New Zealand won hearts by staying true to their fighting streak. , England were declared winners as they had scored more boundaries (in the match including the super over). While New Zealand scored 17 boundaries in total (both 4s and 6s), England were far more superior in the department, having blazed 26 fours and sixes.

Speaking of the loss, Kane Williamson quoted that his side is pretty disappointed for the loss and still trying to get out from it. Further, the flamboyant cricketer added that there is still a bit of talk about the final in the dressing room.
However, Kane Williamson added that he is fortunate to be part of such a scintillating final of the world cup. He believes that it would have been special but Kane Williamson accepts the situation and also didn’t blame umpires for their mistake.
“It is one of those things that every day, often, you are having small conversations about it. Guys are still thinking about it, trying to make sense of it. That is a credit to the match we were involved in, but also the result and how it all ended up. One of those things that guys will be talking about for a long time,” International Cricket Council (ICC) quoted Williamson as saying.
“It is one of those games which, no doubt, you will look back on and really have appreciated being involved in it. Then you throw in a bit of context – the World Cup final – and it maybe makes it all that more special,” Williamson said.
Well, as Kane Williamson said, it is tough to erase such a brilliant moment. They were so close to lifting the trophy but unfortunately, failed for the second time in a row. However, they earned huge respect from across the globe for their fighting spirit.
