CoA Clears There Is No Conflict Of Interest With Rahul Dravid
The Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators(CoA), has said that there is no conflict of interest against former India skipper Rahul Dravid. Last week, BCCI’s Ombudsman-cum-Ethics Officer Justice (Retd) DK Jain served a conflict of interest notice to former India skipper and National Cricket Academy Director Rahul Dravid.
CoA delivers on Dravid’s conflict of interest issue
A life-member of Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association, Sanjeev Gupta filed a complaint to DK Jain highlighting a conflict of interest issue against Dravid. This complaint led Jain to send a legal notice to the Director of NCA, Rahul Dravid. According to Gupta’s complaint, Dravid is allegedly conflicted as he is the NCA Director and also employed as vice-president of India Cements group, which owns IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings.

However, CoA member Ravi Thodge after a meeting with Rahul Dravid has said that there is no conflict with interest with the concerned personnel. Thodge also said that they will now forward their observation to the Ombudsman.
“There’s no conflict on Rahul’s case. He has got a notice and we have cleared his appointment. We had seen no conflict, if Ombudsman (sees any conflict), we will have our response going to the Ombudsman why there is no conflict. He has to consider (it). It’s a process…and the process will continue,” Thodge, said.
Furthermore, Rahul Dravid also met with CoA official in Mumbai to discuss about the facilities at the National Cricket Academy. Ravi Thodge also revealed that Dravid has presented his vision with the NCA and CoA is backing it fully.
“In NCA, there are a few things that need to be done. There are shortage of grounds, they require certain positions, certain people to be employed and certain coaches. There has to be continuity,” Thodge said. “Once you select someone of Dravid’s stature, he has to ensure that the NCA comes up to that international standard. He has given his vision and we are fully in support of his vision. We will work together,” he concluded.
