ICC World Cup 2019: Rohit Sharma Must Be Feeling Terrible, Says Sachin Tendulkar
New Zealand knocked out one of the favourites India out of the ICC World Cup 2019 beating them by 18 runs at the Old Trafford in Manchester. It was a shocker for the Indian cricketers, and batting legend Sachin Tendulkar extended his support to Rohit Sharma saying that he must be in terrible pain now.

Rohit Sharma had an outstanding World Cup campaign finishing as the highest run-scorer with 648 runs from nine matches at an average of 81. He also scored five centuries to equal Sachin Tendulkar’s record of six World Cup hundred before a surprising exit from the tournament losing to New Zealand by 18 runs. Rohit managed to score only one run in the semifinals – his first poor outing in the competition.

Sachin Tendulkar, who faced similar situations in the 2003 World Cup extended his support to the devastating batsman. Tendulkar said that Rohit must be feeling terrible and will some time to recover from this pain because this is a massive disappointment.
“He [Rohit Sharma] must be feeling terrible and so bad about the way we have ended this WC. It’s something which he will take quite some time to overcome because this is a huge disappointment. I feel bad for him,” Sachin Tendulkar told India Today.

Furthermore, Sachin Tendulkar said that the target of 240 runs was a gettable total and India would have chased it ten out of ten times. Tendulkar has been a vocal supporter of team India throughout the tournament and shared the grief of the players after the sudden defeat.
“It is a tough time for everyone, we have expectations and dreams. All I can say is its been a tough day. How bad they must be feeling in the dressing room. I fully agree that we should have chased 240. 10 out of 10 times we would have taken that,” he concluded.
