England captain Eoin Morgan, on Tuesday, broke the world record for most sixes in an ODI innings. The southpaw achieved the incredible milestone in the World Cup clash against Afghanistan at Old Trafford, Manchester. Morgan, who was under injury cloud before the start of the game, absolutely toyed with Afghanistan bowlers as he smashed his career-best 148.

Morgan came to the crease in the 30th over when England were comfortably placed at 164 for 2. He along with Joe Root made the most of the opportunity by adding 189 runs for the third wicket. The partnership broken when Root departed for 88.

Before that Morgan had already raced away to his century and was hitting almost every ball out of the park. The England star was eventually out after slamming 148 runs from just 71 deliveries. The breathtaking knock was studded with 4 fours and 17 sixes.

With Morgan now breaking the record for most sixes in an ODI innings, here is a look at players who are in top five of this list.

However, Shane Watson decided to turn the game into a spectacle by launching a stunning assault. The former Australia allrounder scored 185 not out with the help of an incredible 15 sixes, a world record at that time.
