ICC World Cup 2019: Match 18, India vs New Zealand – New Zealand’s Predicted Playing XI
New Zealand have made a thumping start to their ICC World Cup 2019 campaign winning three consecutive games. However, they have played against the relatively weaker opponents. The real test will begin when they face India on June 13 (Thursday) at the Trent Bridge in Nottingham.
The Kiwis under the leadership of Kane Williamson have delivered good cricket and will hope to concentrate on doing their basics. Meanwhile, the openers will have to contribute at the top as they will have to post a good total on the board to contain the world-class Indian batting. The bowlers have so far looked good with Trent Boult and Matt Henry generating some good pace off the wickets in England.
New Zealand will hope for the same result when they faced India in the warm-up matches.
Here is the predicted playing XI of New Zealand for match 18 of the ICC World Cup 2019 against India at Trent Bridge in Nottingham:

Martin Guptill has a lot of experience behind his back and will have to rise against tougher oppositions like India. New Zealand will hope for a big knock from their star opener.
Colin Munro, when on song, can destroy any bowling unit of the world. The southpaw is an attacking batsman and can score quick runs. Munro will look to forge a good partnership with Guptill and lay the platform for the batters to follow.
Kane Williamson (C)
Kane Williamson has been among the runs, and the onus will be on him to lead the team from the front. The right-handed batsman is a modern-day great and will look to live up to the expectations against a quality bowling attack.
Ross Taylor is the most experienced batsman in this line-up. He will have to shoulder the responsibility of leading the batting unit and put a good score on the board if New Zealand want to keep their winning streak intact.
Tom Latham (wk)
Tom Latham has struggled with the bat so far in the World Cup. He needs to hit the form and provide stability in the middle order. However, Latham has done an excellent job with the wicket-keeping gloves on.
James Neesham had an outstanding game the last returning with a five-wicket haul against Afghanistan. The all-rounder will have to keep up the effort against India. Besides, he is also a clean hitter of the cricket ball, and New Zealand will want some significant contributions from him with the bat.
Colin de Grandhomme
Colin de Grandhomme has had a very average tournament so far. The vastly experienced all-rounder needs to raise his game and contribute significantly if New Zealand wants to keep the Indian batsmen in check.
Mitchell Santner is a very handy cricketer who can contribute to all the departments. However, his left-arm spin will be more effective, considering that Indians are good players of spin. Besides, Santner can also chip in with some scores in the lower order.
Trent Boult wreaked havoc the last time India played New Zealand in the warm-up games leading to the World Cup. Boult will want to produce the same kind of a herculean effort and bowl out India for a small total.
Matt Henry can bowl quick and will have to pick wickets with the new ball against India’s top-class openers. The right-arm pacer has been of average quality and will strive to better his effort in the next match.
Lockie Ferguson is an express bowler; however, can be wayward at times. The fast bowler who was recently a part of IPL needs to use all his experience playing against the Indian batters and help New Zealand keep their winning run intact.
