Reeza Hendricks and Andile Phehlukwayo Attains Career Best Rankings in T20I Cricket

South Africa opener in the shorter formats of the game, Reeza Hendricks has attained career-best rankings in T20I’s after exceptional performances in South Africa’s 3-0 clean sweep against Sri Lanka. Meanwhile all-rounder Andile Phehlukwayo too attained career-best rankings in bowling after South Africa prevented Sri Lanka from winning any of the 8 limited overs matches.

Apart from Reeza Hendricks and Phehlukwayo, South Africa all-rounder JP Duminy, Sri Lankan speedster Lasith Malinga and left-arm pacer Isuru Udana also gained points in the ranking updates following the conclusion of the South Africa Sri Lanka T20I series.

Reeza Hendricks jumped 26 places in the Latest T20I Rankings for batsmen

Reeza Hendricks has jumped 26 places to the 15th position. The stylish batsman scored 139 runs in the 3 match series which included a couple of half-centuries. Meanwhile, Andile Phehlukwayo gained 14 spots and moved up to the 10th position in the latest rankings for bowlers. He bagged 7 wickets in a couple of matches. It included a four-wicket haul in the last match in Johannesburg.

JP Duminy also scored a vital 76 runs in the series which have taken to the 32nd position from 39th. Meanwhile, Rassie van der Dussen also moved to 41st from 74th position after smashing a sensational 98. All-rounder Chris Morris also moved up a couple of places to 18th in the latest rankings for bowlers. Left-arm chinaman bowler Tabraiz Shamsi also jumped 6 places to 35th position.

It was a pretty disappointing series for the visitors. However, there was some individual brilliance which resulted in the rise of rankings for some of the Sri Lankan players. Niroshan Dickwella gained 19 places to move up to 42nd. Meanwhile, Isuru Udana moved to the 104th position from 144th in batting chart after scoring 132 runs in the series. It included a brilliant 98  in the final match. In the bowling rankings, he moved to 51st position, gaining 12 places.

Despite so many changes in the rankings for bowlers and batsmen, the MRF Tyres Men’s ICC T20I Rankings remained the same. South Africa and Sri Lanka both maintained their 5th and 9th position in the rankings.
