After countless hours of development, DJR Team Penske believe their newly unveiled Mustang will keep them at the top of Supercars in the 2019 season.
Series champion Scott McLaughlin has endorsed Ford’s first new build in a decade, saying it even “looks fast standing still”.
The team unveiled the Mustang and its new livery on Monday morning in Melbourne, with largely unchanged colours and one major difference.

The car will debut on a race track in three days time, in testing at Phillip Island, before the season-opening Adelaide 500 on February 28.
Team director Ryan Story cut a delighted, if fatigued, figure at the launch after overseeing a summer of labour.
“We have worked tirelessly on the Mustang program over the last 12 months and to get to this point, where we are revealing it in Shell V-Power colours, is massively satisfying …” he said.
“We’re ecstatic with how the car has come together and how it looks in our 2019 warpaint … and are hopeful of continuing the success we’ve enjoyed in recent years.”
McLaughlin, who seized his first title at the series-ending event in Newcastle last November, foreshadowed an adjustment phase.
“We’ve spent a lot of time developing this new car and to now see it in Shell V-Power colours is awesome,” he said.
“It’s definitely going to take a little bit of time to get our head around a few things.
“Hopefully we can get to the front sooner rather than later.
“It looks fast standing still, so I can’t wait to see how it performs on the streets of Adelaide in a couple of weeks.”
Teammate Fabian Coulthard agreed.
“I can’t remember a build-up to a season as big as this,” he said.
“We’ve got a fantastic new car and I can’t wait to get behind the wheel.”
While the cars are new, DJR Team Penske has an unchanged driver line-up.
McLaughlin and Coulthard will be supported by Frenchman Alex Premat and Tony D’Alberto respectively through the three endurance races at Bathurst, Surfers Paradise and Sandown.
Ford fans will have further reason to support the team through this year’s campaign.
DJR Team Penske are the first Supercars outfit to launch an app which will give fans a fuel discount every time McLaughlin or Coulthard win a race.
