The Thunder introduced Saturday they’re going to retire Collison’s jersey in a ceremony on March 20.
“I’m thrilled that Nick Collison will be the first Thunder participant to have their number retired in Oklahoma City,” mentioned Thunder chairman Clayton I. Bennett. “He has cemented himself as a part of the material of this group and our group by setting an instance of dedication, exhausting work and authenticity. Congratulations, Nick.”
Collison retired in Might after spending his whole profession with the Thunder franchise. He was chosen 12th total by the Seattle SuperSonics within the 2003 draft out of Kansas. The Sonics relocated to Oklahoma City for the 2008-09 season.
Six numbers have been retired by the franchise in Seattle.
