Houston Astros reliever Joe Smith will miss six to eight months after present process surgery for a ruptured left Achilles tendon, normal supervisor Jeff Luhnow introduced Thursday.
Smith, 34, was injured throughout a exercise final week, and the Astros stated the surgery was carried out Tuesday. Smith is getting into the ultimate season of a two-year, $15 million contract he signed with Houston. He’s set to make $eight million in 2019.
Smith made 56 appearances final season, posting a three.74 ERA in 45⅔ innings.
