INDIANAPOLIS — Jay Frye, IndyCar’s head of competitors and operations for the previous three years, has been promoted to president of the open-wheel racing sequence.
The transfer was introduced Monday by Mark Miles, president and CEO of Hulman & Co., which owns IndyCar and Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The promotion is efficient Jan. 1. Miles will stay as CEO of IndyCar.
Frye joined Hulman & Co. in 2013 as chief income officer, a 12 months earlier than the sequence reached a title sponsorship settlement with Verizon. IndyCar mentioned the reorganization, which incorporates a number of different strikes, was a result of C.J. O’Donnell’s resignation as chief advertising and marketing officer, a job he held since November 2013.
